Senior Digital Asset Regulatory Compliance Lead – Remote Fintech Expert

Wise is seeking a high-level Compliance Senior Manager to lead its virtual asset operations in Dubai. As the designated Virtual Asset Compliance Officer (VACO), you will be the foundational architect of the compliance framework for new stablecoin and virtual asset services under the VARA (Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority) regulatory regime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regulatory Oversight: Acting as the primary liaison for VARA, managing all licensing requirements, examinations, and reporting to ensure the business exceeds regulatory expectations.

• Governance & Advisory: Localizing global policies for the UAE market and providing strategic compliance guidance to Engineering, Product, and Legal teams during new product launches.

• Financial Crime Mitigation: Designing frameworks to address crypto-specific risks, including blockchain analytics, the “Travel Rule,” and Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) to the UAE FIU.

Requirements:

• Experience: At least 8 years in regulatory compliance (or 5 years with specialized crypto certifications like CCFCC or CRC).

• Expertise: Deep knowledge of UAE AML/CFT regulations and FATF Recommendations for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs).

• Mindset: A solution-oriented leader capable of building a function from the ground up in a fast-paced, pioneering tech environment.
