The Role
Wise is seeking a Compliance Senior Manager to spearhead our virtual asset compliance framework in Dubai. As the designated Virtual Asset Compliance Officer (VACO), you will lead our engagement with the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), building a robust strategy from the ground up to support our mission of borderless money.
Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Leadership: Act as the primary liaison for VARA, managing licensing, examinations, and strategic reporting.

Governance & Strategy: Localize global policies for the UAE market and provide expert advisory to the Board on virtual asset risks.

Financial Crime Oversight: Design risk-based frameworks for blockchain analytics, “Travel Rule” compliance, and AML/CFT monitoring.

Product Collaboration: Partner with Engineering and Product teams to scale innovative services safely and transparently.
Your Profile
You possess at least 8 years of compliance experience (or 5 years with specialized crypto certification) and a deep understanding of the UAE regulatory landscape. You are a solution-oriented leader with a “growth mindset” who thrives in fast-paced, autonomous environments.
