Senior Business Risk Officer – Financial Services Compliance Expert

Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), recognized as the top bank in the UAE by Forbes in 2022, is seeking an ambitious professional to oversee Risk and Governance within its Personal Banking Group (PBG). This role is critical for ensuring that Business Banking onboarding and portfolio management align with both Central Bank guidelines and internal compliance frameworks.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding & Approvals: Managing the end-to-end onboarding process, approving low-to-medium risk accounts, and performing “checker” duties for foreign currency accounts and manual applications.

  • Risk & Portfolio Governance: Conducting regular portfolio reviews, identifying suspicious transaction patterns, and managing “portfolio cleanup” related to AML exits or document expiries.

  • Compliance & Monitoring: Serving as a secondary Relationship Manager (RM2) for credit-linked (BAF) clients to monitor early warning indicators (EWI) and ensuring regulatory reporting for FATCA and CRS.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Reporting: Publishing daily AML/RFI reports and creating risk assessment presentations for senior management.

  • Due Diligence: Performing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) to prevent portfolio deterioration and managing third-party vendors for site visits.

  • Collaboration: Working across business units to maintain high service standards and ensuring all operations remain compliant with evolving UAE laws.
