Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Litigation: Attend to all matters related to court work, including drafting legal documents and appearing in courts.

Property Law: Handle the examination and verification of property titles.

Lending Documentation: Prepare and execute Mortgage Bonds and other deeds/agreements related to Commercial and Corporate Lending.

Security Documentation: Draft other required security documentation in relation to company lending.

Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to internal rules, regulations, and overall regulatory compliance.
The Person

Professional Status: Must be an Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and a Notary Public with a license to practice in the Judicial Zone of Colombo in English and Sinhala.

Experience: Requires a minimum of 15–20 years of experience in Legal Practice, including at least 10 years within a financial institute or the Commercial Banking sector.

Education: A Master’s Degree in Law is considered an added qualification.

Specialized Knowledge: Must possess sound knowledge of statutes and laws, particularly those relating to banking and finance.

Communication: Requires excellent writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Sinhala.
